Ms. Martinez was a Leadershift Participant at The Grand Canyon Trust, Flagstaff, Arizona. She participated in a fast-paced three-week training program exploring environmental justice issues on the Colorado Plateau and analyzing the path of fossil fuels from source to destination, learned through the teachings of Indigenous peoples.
Additionally, Ms. Martinez executed a two-minute online broadcast and online newspaper that envisioned a just future for the year 2070 in Black Mesa and Los Angeles. Read the Article below.

Ms. Martinez was a participant in the Urban Archaeology Program in 2016 with Mountains Recreation Conservation Authority and the National Park Service. As part of her internship, she directed a short film, "Find your Park," utilizing her own photography and videos.
