Ms. Martinez founded the Roots and Wings program  in partnership with Outward Bound Adventures, at Los Angeles Leadership Academy High School (August 2013 - June 2015). Ms. Martinez led and prepared bi-monthly meetings and created learning targets for inner-city high school students in the outdoors. As chair, she collaborated with Outward Bound Adventures and the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area to plan and implement the first senior camping trip and prepare all materials, including meal plans, packing lists, and group management.
